School, the daily schedule and the standard we keep
01How does schoolwork work at Goliath?
High school students complete online coursework through Premier Prep. Postgrad students use ASU learner courses. GCA provides scheduled academic time, in-person supervision, progress monitoring, and accountability.
02Who manages grades, credits, and graduation requirements?
The applicable academic provider governs grades, credits, transcripts, course placement, and graduation requirements. Families should review the student’s course plan with the provider and GCA.
03What happens if my student falls behind?
Additional academic time may be assigned. Practice, travel, competition, or other privileges may be limited until progress improves. Students should ask for help early, and families should review grades and pacing regularly.
04What are the program hours?
Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Tuesday/Thursday open gym: 5:00–7:00 PM. Friday: 8:00 AM–noon, with activities based on academic needs and events. Saturday morning run: 6:00–9:00 AM. Follow the latest schedule issued by GCA.
05When do students work on academics?
Monday–Thursday, National High School academic time is 11:30 AM–1:00 PM. Postgrad academic time is 9:00–10:30 AM. Additional academic work may be assigned based on student needs.
06What should students bring and wear?
Bring a charged laptop or approved device, charger, headphones, school supplies, refillable water bottle, athletic shoes, and required sports equipment. Wear a provided Goliath shirt with solid black or white bottoms. Jeans, pajamas, and patterns require approval.
07Can students use phones? Are devotionals part of the day?
Phones must be silent and put away during academics, devotionals, meetings, film study, and training unless permitted. Christian prayer, Scripture, and character instruction are part of the program; students are expected to participate respectfully.
What tuition covers, and how meals, rides and housing run
08What does each tuition option include?
In-state: $600/month includes tuition and local transportation. Not included: flights, meals, and housing. Out-of-state: $1,100/month includes tuition, local transportation, housing, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner under the meal schedule (see the next question). Flights are not included.
09Are meals provided on weekends, holidays, or trips?
Regular meals are provided on scheduled Academy weekdays. No meals are provided on weekends or holidays. During out-of-state team travel, at least one meal is provided.
10Can students add a meal plan?
Optional monthly plans are $150 for lunch, $300 for breakfast and lunch, or $375 for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is no additional meal-plan charge when meals are already included in the signed tuition agreement.
11How are menus, allergies, and missed meals handled?
A weekly menu is sent out. Notify GCA in writing about allergies or dietary needs before participation; not every restriction can be accommodated. Missed meals do not automatically receive a refund or credit. Request plan changes in writing.
12What does local transportation cover?
Local transportation includes team activities and travel between housing and the academy. Both tuition plans include this coverage. Families must keep transportation and release permissions current. Flights are not included.
13Who oversees housing, and what is the curfew?
The housing monitor is responsible for housing oversight. Curfew is 10:00 PM on weekdays and midnight on weekends. Students must follow check-in and house rules. The Housing Agreement does not guarantee continuous or 24-hour direct supervision.
14Can students have visitors or stay somewhere else?
Visitors need advance approval. Overnight guests require specific authorization. Leaving the residence or changing overnight plans requires housing approval and, for minors, parent/guardian authorization. Students must remain at the residence after curfew unless approved.
Attendance, paperwork, injuries and who to call
15What if my student is absent, late, or needs early pickup?
Notify GCA as early as possible. Students remain responsible for missed coursework. Early pickup requires sign-out. Minors may leave only under the release permissions on file; photo ID may be requested.
16What paperwork is needed before participation or move-in?
Complete the Student-Athlete Agreement Packet and required medical, transportation, and housing documents. Keep physicals, clearances, and emergency information current. Housing placement requires approval and completion of initial financial requirements.
17What happens if my student is injured?
Report injuries, illness, or suspected concussion immediately. GCA may stop participation and require medical evaluation or written clearance before return. Staff and coaches do not diagnose medical conditions.
18Is playing time or a scholarship guaranteed?
No. GCA does not guarantee playing time, starting status, team placement, travel selection, scholarships, college admission, or NCAA eligibility. Families remain responsible for checking the requirements that apply to their student.
19When is the commitment deposit due, and how do I pay?
The one-time $300 commitment deposit is due on commitment day. Complete enrollment and payment through LegitFit from the Tuition & Enrollment section of the Academy page. Individual payment and refund terms are governed by the signed financial agreements.
20What happens if a student breaks housing rules?
Serious or repeated violations may result in removal from housing. Serious safety concerns may require immediate removal. Parents/guardians are responsible for arranging alternative housing and transportation when applicable.
21Who should I contact with questions or concerns?
Contact GCA staff about academics and the coach or administrator about athletics. Report attendance, pickup, medical, or safety changes promptly. Bullying concerns can be reported to a coach, staff member, housing monitor, or administrator.
